Home Winter Experiences Classic Winter in Lapland – 3 Days Experience
Experience Lapland in the heart of winter with Classic Winter in Lapland, a 3-day journey through snow-covered forests, frozen landscapes and some of Rovaniemi’s most iconic Arctic experiences.
Meet Santa Claus, feel the energy of a husky adventure, explore the spectacular frozen scenery of Korouoma Canyon, and step into the peaceful Arctic wilderness on snowshoes. Along the way, enjoy traditional outdoor moments surrounded by snow and the silence of Lapland’s winter nature.
When night falls, the adventure continues beneath the Arctic sky with two Northern Lights hunting experiences, giving you more opportunities to head out in search of one of Lapland’s most extraordinary natural phenomena.
Three days combining Arctic adventure, winter landscapes, local traditions and unforgettable experiences — a complete introduction to the magic of Lapland in winter.

Itinerary

  • Begin the adventure at Santa Claus Village, where you will meet Santa Claus, cross the legendary Arctic Circle and have time to explore this iconic destination in Rovaniemi.
  • Take home a special memory with a small printed official group photo with Santa Claus and a certificate commemorating your crossing of the Arctic Circle.
  • Continue to a husky farm and meet these energetic Arctic dogs before setting off on an exciting husky sled ride through the snowy surroundings.
  • After the daytime experiences, return to your accommodation and enjoy some time to rest before the evening adventure.
  • As darkness falls, head out on your first Northern Lights hunting experience. We will follow weather forecasts, cloud cover and auroral activity, adapting our route in search of the best conditions available that night.
  • During the hunt, enjoy the Arctic night while your guide captures digital photographs of the experience, creating memories of your first night beneath the northern sky.
  • Travel from Rovaniemi to the spectacular Korouoma Canyon, one of Lapland’s most impressive winter landscapes, surrounded by snow-covered forests, dramatic cliffs and frozen waterfalls.
  • Follow the winter trail through the canyon, discovering its breathtaking scenery and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the Arctic wilderness.
  • Along the way, your guide will help you explore the area at a comfortable pace, with opportunities to stop, enjoy the surroundings and capture photographs of the frozen landscape.
  • After the hike, it is time to relax and warm up around the fire with an outdoor Arctic BBQ, featuring smoked salmon, grilled sausages and hot drinks.
  • After enjoying the meal and the surrounding nature, begin the journey back to Rovaniemi.
  • Step into the snow-covered Arctic forest on snowshoes, following peaceful trails through the winter landscape and discovering a traditional way of moving across deep snow.
  • Enjoy the beauty and silence of Lapland’s wilderness, with time to explore the surroundings, take photographs and experience the forest away from the city.
  • During the experience, gather around the fire for a traditional outdoor BBQ with grilled sausages and hot drinks, surrounded by the snowy Arctic landscape.
  • After the daytime adventure, return to your accommodation and enjoy some time to rest before heading out again in the evening.
  • As darkness falls, set out on your second Northern Lights hunt. Whether the first night brought an incredible display or only a subtle glimpse, we head out once again, following the conditions and searching for another opportunity beneath the Arctic sky.
  • Our team will monitor weather forecasts, cloud cover and auroral activity, adapting the route and observation locations according to the conditions of the night.
  • Digital photographs are included during the Northern Lights experience, capturing the final night of your Classic Winter adventure in Lapland.
